What causes Background Radiation?

Question: What causes background radiation and where does it come from?

Answer: BR which is a low-intensity form of radiation, found naturally on planet Earth, comes from two main sources.

The first source are cosmic rays which constantly bombard the planet, these rays originate for the most part outside our solar system.

The second cause is naturally occurring radioactive materials and substances found within the crust of planet Earth.
