Question: How many F1 drivers world championships did legend Ayrton Senna win?
Answer: During his career, Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna managed to win the drivers title a total of three times. Senna won it during the 1988, 1990 and 1991 seasons.
All three of Senna’s championships were won during his time driving for the British McLaren F1 team.
There are two main reasons why Senna didn’t win even more titles during his time in F1. The first being the fact his career was tragically cut short in 1994 and secondly, many of his seasons were spent not driving a truly competitive car.
Despite a small number of drivers having won more championships, in the eyes of many motorsport fans, Senna is by far the greatest driver in Formula One history.
