Pop group One Direction are set to appear on this Saturdays X Factor UK live show as ITV look to start the finals on a high.

In a bid to increase the 2012 X Factor TV ratings the shows bosses are bringing in the big guns with the former boy band contestants.

In addition to singing live on the show One Direction will give this years contestants extra behind the scenes advice and support ahead of their own live debuts.

Although not yet confirmed 1D are expected to perform their latest hit single Live While We’re Young for the X Factor audience.

One Direction shot to instant fame after competing in the 2012 X Factor series where they eventually finished in third place. Singers Niall, Louis, Harry, Liam and Zayn who all entered the show as individuals were put together by the shows judges to compete in the groups category and now the rest is history.

This Saturdays 2012 performance will be a home coming of sorts for the five 1D boys who now return as a world conquering pop act.

ITV producers along with X Factor boss Simon Cowell are looking to use every weapon in their armory in order to win the Saturday night reality show ratings war. The X Factor is in direct competition with the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
