Who originally hosted Catchphrase?

Question: Who used to originally host the TV game show Catchphrase?

Answer: The ITV Saturday night game show was first presented by the Northern Irish comedian Roy Walker.

Roy who first found fame in 1977 by winning the talent show New Faces, hosted Catchphrase from 1986 to 1999.

While presenting the game show, Roy Walker became well known for his own phrases including “Say what you see” and “It’s good but it’s not right”.

The shows other main star has always been Mr Chips who regularly appeared in the then basic computer animations.

A rebooted version of Catchphrase returned to UK screens in 2013, this time with new host Stephen Mulhern.

Between Walker and Mulhern though, the show was also briefly hosted by Australian Nick Weir and then Mark Curry.
