Answer: That song which is just called ‘Sit Down’ was originally released in June, 1989 by the British band James.

The rock band James come from Manchester in England and got together in 1982, their lead singer was and still is Tim Booth.

The original version of the song ran for 7 minutes and 39 seconds and as a result proved rather unpopular for radio air-play.

However in March 1991 a new recording of Sit Down lasting 4:05 was released which reached number 2 in the UK charts.

In March 2013 the song performed by James and comedian Peter Kay was featured on the charity fund raising show ‘Comic Relief’.
