In the sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys, who plays Mrs Brown?

In the popular British comedy, Mrs Brown is played by Irish actor, comedian and writer Brendan O’Carroll.

Born in Dublin in 1955, O’Carroll has been a well known name in Ireland since the 90’s. In recent years though his show, Mrs Brown’s boys has become a huge hit further afield.

However due to the fact Brendan usually appears on screen in drag his face is still not widely recognized.

The sitcom which first aired in 2011 is based on a series of plays, also written by the Irishman and starring the character Agnes Browne.

To date, in addition to the UK and Ireland, the show has also been broadcast in Canada, Iceland, New Zealand and Australia.
