2012 Strictly Come Dancing Stars Say Their Not Favorites to Win

Four of 2012’s Strictly Come dancing stars Kimberly Walsh, Nicky Byrne, Louis Smith and Jerry Hall have been talking about their role on this years ball room series. The selection of Celeb’s appeared on the Channel 4 show, Alan Carr Chatty Man.

Discussing why they chose to take part in this years series of Strictly Come Dancing the stars all agreed it has been good fun so far. They liked the fact you get to learn a new skill like ball room dancing, this was in contrast to a show like I’m A Celebrity. Kimberly Walsh also wasn’t keen to take part in ITV show Dancing on Ice saying it was “Terrifying”.

On the subject of who was favorite to win Kimberly went on to say she didn’t believe her or fellow contestant Denise Van Outen had an advantage, due to having previously performed in West End Shows saying “We’ve all got something to bring”. “I have danced before so I thought it might be alright, doable. Then I got in the training room and I was like oh my gosh, this is really technical, really hard”.

Olympic Silver and Bronze gymnastics medalist Louis Smith said “I’m just a normal guy, I’ve got no dancing experience whatsoever”. “People think i’m the favorite and stuff, i’m just like these guys, i’m new to this”.

Having been training around five to six hours a day, former Westlife member Nicky Byrne said “You get pains in muscles you didn’t even know you had”.

In contrast to the general level of competition on the show Jerry Hall stated she was “too lazy to be competitive”. Given the models general demeanor it would take a brave person to back her for this years crown. Despite him playing down his chances you would still have to consider Louis one of the favorites given what he’s already achieved in a sport as physically demanding as gymnastics.

Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6:30pm on BBC One and BBC one HD.
