Answer: The BBC’s new fantasy drama series was filmed in two main locations.

The shows outdoor location filming was carried out in the hot, sun drenched country of Morocco, North Africa.

Meanwhile the rest of the footage was shot somewhere cooler in a former Tesco supermarket cold storage facility. The warehouse is located on the Newhouse Farm Industrial Estate in Mathern, Chepstow, South Wales, UK next to the Severn Bridge.

Thanks to the wonders of special effects and set design though, a building once home to trailers and forklift trucks was transformed into a land of myth and legend.

Atlantis is being broadcast on BBC One in the UK and later on BBC America in the US.
