Question: What time does the 2013 Virgin London Marathon start?

Answer: This years London Marathon will feature staggered start times with different divisions also beginning the race from different locations in the city.

Here are the times the race begins for each of the main entrant divisions plus their relevant starting points:

9:00 am Elite Women – Blue start point at Shooters Hill

9:20 am Wheelchair competitors – Blue start point at Shooters Hill

9:45 am Elite Men plus Athletics Championship runners – Blue start point at Shooters Hill

9:45 am The Main Field of runners – Red start point in Greenwich Park

9:45 am Celebrity Runners – Green start point in St John’ Park

Although there will be three different starting locations, after 2.8 miles all routes will link up and join the main course in Woolwich.

2013’s event will be the 33rd running on the London Marathon and as always the course length will be 26.2 miles.

The number of competitors for this years race which takes place on Sunday, April 21, 2013 is expected to exceed 35,000.
