Under the bright lights and night sky of the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore, Luca Filippi took pole in the GP2 qualifying session.

The session was red flagged with just 1:25 left to go after Ocean driver Nigel Melker hit the barriers, partially blocking the track. As there wasn’t’ enough time left for anyone to set a fresh time the session wasn’t restarted.

This meant Italian Luca Filippi finished in first with a time of 1:59.444, Max Chilton was second and Esteban Gutierrez third.
