Where is the Isle of Fernando’s?

Where is the Isle of Fernando’s (or Fernando) which is always mentioned on Take Me Out?

The Isle of Fernando’s where couples are sent on ITV’s ‘Take Me Out’ dating show is actually located in Puerto de la Cruz, a resort on the north coast of the Spanish island of Tenerife. It’s not in fact an island of it’s own, but rather a generic name ITV give to whichever sunny location they chose to film at.

Other series of Take Me Out have also used resorts on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

Puerto de la Cruz is a popular tourist destination formally known in Britain as ‘Crossport’ which is it’s English translation.

Winning contestants on Take Me Out in 2013 get to spend a short time at the resort where they stay at the 5 Star Botanico Hotel.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands which are situated in the Atlantic Ocean, just off the North-West coast of Africa.

Due to their location the climate in the Canary Islands remains warm all year round, making them popular among European holiday makers during the winter months.

Take Me Out is a dating show broadcast in the UK on Saturday nights on ITV. The show is hosted by comedian Paddy McGuinness.
