The 1990 United States Grand Prix took place on the streets of Phoenix, Arizona.

The race was held on the 11th of March and after 72 laps was won by Ayrton Senna in his McLaren Honda. Second place was taken by Jean Alesi with Thierry Boutsen coming in third.

The race was run in early March as the F1 season opener to avoid the extremely hot temperatures experienced during the Arizona desert summer months.

14 of the 26 starters managed to finish the race but with only five cars still on the lead lap.
