What was the name of the actor who played the armorer Major Boothroyd in the first James Bond film “Dr. No”?

The actor who played Major Boothroyd, better known as Q in the 1962 Bond film Dr No was Peter Burton.

This was Burton’s one and only appearance as Q in the James Bond series of movies. He was later replaced by Welsh actor Desmond Llewelyn who went on to play the part for over 35 years.

Q stands for Quartermaster, he is the head of Q branch/division. Q is a firearms expert who advises and arms 007 with the latest in gun and ammunition technology.
