During his hugely successful Formula One career how many times did Ayrton Senna win the Brazilian Grand Prix?

Brazilian F1 legend Ayrton Senna managed to win his home Grand Prix a total of two times. Despite all his success in F1 it took until 1991 before Senna won his first Brazilian GP.

Ayrton then won it again in 1993, both times while driving for the McLaren F1 team.

The first win in 1991 was Senna’s eight Brazilian Grand Prix and he even had work hard for that one.

For much of the later stages of the race while leading, his McLaren was having various gearbox issues to the point with a few laps left Senna could only use sixth gear.

Despite these huge technical issues Ayrton Senna manged to hold on to the lead to claim his first ever home win in F1.

After the race Senna was physically and emotionally exhausted but needless to say the Brazilian fans were delighted with their hero’s victory.
